Kirbified Glitch-Bob by jen-kollic Kirbified Glitch-Bob by jen-kollic
...you know, I think this guy might be TOO adorable. He's just so... happy! Which was entirely intentional, because I get irritated by folk going "wah, I don't like Glitch-Bob because he's all mopey and depressing!" Apparently being lost in the Web, separated from his friends, living with the knowledge that Megabyte's probably trashing Mainframe in his absence, degrading, being separated from Glitch and living on web slugs should have had no effect on his personality. Riiiiiiiight.

Made in Super Sculpey, painted with Citadel acrylics, hair, feet, eyes and mouth are gloss-laquered. Kudos to ~wings33 for originally coming up with the idea for ReBoot Kirbys. Oh, and ReBoot belongs to Rainmaker Entertainment.

Any suggestions for the next one? (just as long as it's not Daemon or Ray Tracer)

Mopey and depressing? He's just less happy-go-lucky than regular Bob! (And you amply covered the reasons why that might be.) He's still optimistic, remember when he was like "Don't worry, it's not like we're never gonna see each other again! :D" before wading into the Core?

...that wasn't directed at you, I was just venting. Also Kirbob is too cute to be legal.

Ha ha, vent all you like, I totally agree with you. I get particularly annoyed when people argue that Dot was right to pick MegaBob over Glitch-Bob because 'she wants the happy Bob she remembers'. Because that actually really reflects badly on Dot if you think about it.

And this is why people don't like Season 4 Dot.

Wanting your beloved to be happy is understandable, but that's a completely ass-backwards way to go about it.

Though Bob is also stupidly noble and self sacrificing about the whole thing, since he goes off to try and split himself from Glitch instead of, you know, actually talking to Dot about it.

I always laugh at the conversation he has with AndrAIa and Enzo #2 in Al's where he's all "bawwww, I don't wanna be a copy, copies suck!" not seeming to realise or remember that AndrAIa and Enzo #2 ARE copies of their original sprites. It's a shame neither of them call him on it.

(it's okay Bob, I still love you, putting your foot in your mouth now and then is just part of your charm)

I'd forgotten that AndrAIa was a copy (good catch), but I did notice that he was being insensitive to Enzo 2.0. Also yes, it would have saved everyone a lot of trouble if he'd brought the problem up with Dot before going off for a horribly dangerous attempt at splitting himself from Glitch.

Wasn't Season 4 great?

Mind you, I can't entirely call that out-of-character, since he was impulsive and overconfident way back in Season 1 and 2. I can call it particularly stupid, though.

Also I thought that going "well fine then, I'll just split myself from Glitch!" was pretty ungrateful to Glitch, who we know is a sentient being in its own right. "Yeah, thanks for helping me save Mainframe Glitch, but now I want the girl so get out!"

Season 4 was... rushed. There are things I really like about it (like Ray getting no lines lol) but there are things I don't. (like Daemon) A lot of it seemed like they were trying to fit a full season or two worth of story arcs into eight episodes, so I don't really blame the writers.

Yeah, Bob does have a history of doing dumb things so it's not entirely out of character, but you do think he'd do something like, I don't know, TALK TO DOT first. Plus given the way he bickers with her at times, you'd think he might actually take offense at her preferring MegaBob to him. He's the one that saved Mainframe dammit!

I hadn't thought about this in years, but yeah, that is seriously giving Glitch the short end of the stick there. I remember feeling pretty danged sorry for it when I watched the movie in years past.

Yeah I recently watched all of Season 3 in like two days and Ray's accent made me wince. There are a lot of silly accents in ReBoot, but Ray has the dubious honour of being cringeworthy for me even through a thick blanket of nostalgia. (Possibly it's because I have a bunch of Australian friends now.) I can see how they wouldn't have had the resources to make Season 4 as good as the previous seasons, so I don't really blame the writing staff for it either... but still.

Yeah Bob had some perfectly legitimate complaints to bring up! The main one being, where was MegaBob when the system was crashing? If Dot preferred MegaBob over Glitch Bob just because he was a pristine undamaged version of pre-Web Bob, that's kind of shallow and awful of her. I'd cut her a bit of slack for being more attracted to MegaBob, because at least for humans that's not something you can really control, and I don't want to use an argument that makes it sound like she owes either version of Bob her love, but kicking Glitch Bob to the curb over that is a bit not good.

*throws up hands* New plan: Ditch this love triangle clusterfuck and pair Dot up with Mouse. And... I'd go with Bob/Hex if Hex wasn't inconveniently dead at the moment.

I really dislike Ray mostly because of how they paired him up with Mouse, like "oh hey, mouse doesn't have a boyfriend and she needs one, she can have this random guy who previously seemed a little obsessed with AndrAIa!" I know there's a lot of people who don't like Matrix, but I have a huge soft spot for the guy, and he and AndrAIa are my favourite canon couple.

It's not so much that GlitchBob would think Dot owed him her love, though there might be a bit of that in there since love isn't always rational and can be pretty selfish, but she totally DID ask him to marry her, before the other Bob turned up. I think he'd be more "okay, so after all I've done you pick that guy because he's pretty? Screw you guys, I'm going back to the Supercomputer!" And if he HAD done that, well, those guys would have been pretty screwed when Megabyte tipped his hand. Then again, Mouse could totally have saved the day and got the girl (Dot) because she is Mouse. EPIC DUEL ON THE PRINCIPAL OFFICE ROOF!

LOL, I actually do ship and write Dot/Mouse liek woah, they're my favourite non-canon pairing and I totally think they were sleeping together during that part of Season 3 nobody sees where they're left in Mainframe while everyone else has wacky Web/Gamejopping adventures...

There is no reason not to like Glitch Bob. He has all the reasons in the world to be depressed.
I personnaly love Guardian Bob and Glitch Bob equally. But I gotta admit long hair suits him...

Exactly, if Glitch Bob wants to be a bit emo, I think it's perfectly justified. And I wish he'd kept the long hair, there was no reason for it to go short again when he became Guardian Bob again! Sure, it might have gone back to being all shiny again, but why would it get shorter too?
